Eagle Lake Health Services provides community-based health services to members of Eagle Lake First Nation. Service delivery is client-centered and is based on cultural values and practices of Eagle Lake First Nation. Our programs focus on the holistic approach to wellness.
Services include:
Home Care Nursing & Coordination of Home Support Services are provided by a registered nurse, referrals can be forwarded by other health care facilities /agenices, self referrals, friends, family or community members. Additional staff to the program include; Two (2) Personal Support Workers, and (1) one Home Maintenance Worker.
Mental Health & Addiction Services are coordinated by two (2) of our staff that deliver counselling services, traditonal ceremonies, group workshops and educational sessions that that promote wellness, coordination and referrals to psychologist, psychiatric and other counselling services, treatment centre referrals, and coordination of aftercare services.
Non Insured Health Benefits for medical transportation services are coordinated by our referral clerk, services for local transportation to Dryden are provided by our local medical transportation driver, trips are coordinated by calling the referral clerk directly at the Health Centre. Distant transportation referrals to other major cities are coordinated by our referral clerk.
Community Wellness Worker is funded by the Aboriginal Healing & Wellness Strategy , the focus is to provide family violence services, referrals, support and case management to clients to address existing and emerging health, healing and wellness. Our staff organize and facilitate community events (e.g., cultural awareness, education, illness prevention and crisis intervention workshops, as well as promotion programming for school age and other youth, seniors and other identified populations); and undertake outreach (e.g., health and wellness fairs).
Services provided by our one (1) staff is to address violence, diabetes education, coordination of services to access other services not available in the community.
Child and Youth Services are coordinated by our Brighter Futures Coordinator and Healthy Babies, Healthy Community Worker through the Early Childhood Development Centre.
Community Health Prevention and Promotion is delivered by our Community Health Representative and Community Health Nurse, services delivery include a range of health educaiton and promotion; injury prevention, school health education, environmental health issues, traditional healing coordination and referrals, NIHB appeals and advocacy, emergency and crisis response
